Chaos Rankings

Welcome Back

Greetings once again from the realm of college football!  The first games kick off in less than 32 hours!  It's been a crazy offseason with scandals and conference realignment and the agreement to implement something slightly closer to a playoff starting in 2014.  What does that mean for Chaos Rankings?  Surprisingly little.  These rankings never had a chance of being included in the official BCS formula since they consider margin of victory, but I suppose it's possible they could become part of the criteria that will determine the top 4 teams in the new format.  How those four teams will be selected is yet to be determined, since there has been come backlash against proprietary computer-generated rankings (disclosure: my formula is publicly available) as well as the coaches poll.  So who knows what the future holds, other than football itself.  And isn't that what's truly important here?  With that in mind, I'd like to welcome UTSA, South Alabama, UMass, and Texas State to Division IA.  Good luck kids!
